Swiss Geodetic Commission (SGC)

Logo von Akademie der Naturwissenschaften Schweiz
Geodesy experts coming from practice, research, development and education are engaged in the SGC. It promotes and coordinates the activities of all stakeholders and defends their interests in various national and international commissions.
The commission members are active in many ways: in the organisation of conferences, workshops and courses as well as by providing their expertise to advise authorities and institutions. The active Swiss institutions in teaching and research in geodesy are ETH Zurich (Institute of Geodesy and Photogrammetry), EPFL (Geodetic Engineering Laboratory) FHNW (Institute of Geomatics Engineering), HEIG-VD (Institute of Geomatics, Environmental Management, Building and Structural Monitoring) as well as the University of Bern (Astronomisches Institut). The SGC accompanies and supports both research and the strategic orientation as well as the organisation of geodesy courses in collaboration with other countries.
